Cameroon’s Emergency Food Programme Moves Into Stride

In the context of its emergency food security programme designed to boost food production in the country, the Cameroon Government has elected to partner with Chede Cooperative Union Ltd for the production of maize in Kupe Muanenguba Division. The government will provide Chede with basic inputs and Chede will organize and support its village farmer groups to produce maize.

With this new development, Chede intends to make maize production a sustained annual activity within its village network of farmer organizations for subsistence and income generation.  Local and international development actors interested in boosting food security in Cameroon are welcome to join forces with Chede Cameroon in this and other ventures that tackle the root causes of hunger in villages and cities.
